Italian's Diamond DeceptionA bridal bargain… With the enemy! Mira Braun’s life crumbled when she discovered her “father’s” lies. Revenge is the balm she needs to soothe her aching wounds. And his business rival, billionaire from her past Rocco DeStephano, can help her get it. Though Mira never expected him to seal their alliance with a fake engagement! The red-hot encounter he and Mira once shared still haunts Rocco. He may not trust her, but to consolidate his power over his competition, he’ll brand Mira with his diamond. Only, acting publicly enraptured establishes a deeper connection that wasn’t part of their deal… LinksItalian's Diamond Deception is book two in my Business Proposals duet. Look for book one, Business-Deal Bride, which tells the story of Axel, the man Mira believed she would have to marry before she found her HEA with Rocco. After Hours RendezvousDid you get your free copy of After Hours Rendezvous, the prequel to Afternoon Delight? Georgia has rules: no bosses, no drama, no falling for the man upstairs. Georgia opened Afternoon Delight, an adult toy boutique, to be her own boss, answer to no one, and never let a man derail her again. What she didn't plan on was Bruno — the broad-shouldered security guard who turns out to live in the flat directly above her shop, the one who has been distracting her from the moment they met. Bruno is stretched thin. He works nights, runs a gym on fumes, and has been quietly keeping his family afloat since his brother's life imploded. He has no business wanting more than the occasional after-hours visit with Georgia, but her razor wit and her warm, unapologetic heart, is the one thing in his life that feels like breathing room. Then a frightening medical diagnosis forces Georgia to let people in — including Bruno, who shows up with Tylenol and questions he has no right to ask, and stays far longer than either of them intended. Through slow-burn texts, waffles that taste better than any fancy dinner, and the kind of honesty that only happens in the dark, two fiercely independent people start to wonder if needing someone could feel less like surrender and more like coming home. After Hours Rendezvous is a steamy, heartfelt contemporary romance set in Victoria, BC, featuring a sex-positive heroine, a quietly devoted hero, found family, and a happily ever after worth every ache along the way.
Psst... If you've already read After Hours Rendezvous, please consider leaving a review on Goodreads here. Jennifer gave the book 5 stars. (She gave me the idea to list book on Goodreads so I could collect reviews, TBH. Thanks Jennifer!) Here's a little of what she said about it: Getting to know Georgia and Bruno's story from their POV is a treat and I was reminded why I liked AFTERNOON DELIGHT so much. I am a huge fan of this author's work ... her stories are populated by characters who are so real - flawed and so very likable and unfailingly redeemable. 🥰 Leave a ReviewHello Reader,It feels like a lifetime ago when I went to Victoria to present a workshop to the romance writers there. It was incredible to catch up with old friends and talk books. I stayed at the James Bay Inn which is funky and cute and in a great location downtown. I was also able to meet up with my new editor from Sugar Shack, Alison, who edited the re-issue of Afternoon Delight. It was an amazing treat to spend time with her and get to know more about Pownal Street Press. As fun as all that was, the best part of the trip was spending time at my daughter's because she has a new kitten. Her name is Imogen. Silas, their six-year-old rescue, has been very tolerant of this little sister who has invaded his home. He's always been a very aloof cat while Imogen is feisty and very playful, but seriously. Is there anything better than being pounced on by something that weighs less than a pound of butter? I'm tempted to go back just to see her, but I've got a garden in now so I guess I'm home for the summer. Do you happen to live in Enderby or Edmonton, though? Because I will be in both places this fall: Meet Me in...Enderby, BC - Sep 12thThe 2026 Enderby Lit-Con is scheduled for September 12th, 2026, at the Splatsin Community Centre in Enderby, B.C., featuring a gathering of local authors, writers, and book lovers. I hope to see you there! What Was I Thinking?I've been promising to do this since January... Do you like receiving the Tuesday reminder when a new episode of my author commentary drops? If so, please Opt In here.
If you don't opt in, you'll continue to receive all my other emails and I'll still include this WWIT round-up in my monthly Long One, but starting this month, I'll only send you the Tuesday WWIT reminder if you opt in to receive it. These are the books I covered in May:
Listen NowWhat I'm WatchingI was fairly committed to Scandal until Season 7, but Olivia has lost her way. I've decided to move on for now. Besides, there's a new season of Tucci in Italy. We watched Outcome and Good Fortune, both with Keanu Reeves. They're amusing, but not ground breaking. We also watched Hot Rod which is very old and very deliberately dumb in the most hilarious way. Margo's Got Money Troubles is good, but very stressful. Wanda Sykes' new standup on Netflix is fun. We tried Marty Supreme. I got bored and told Doug to finish watching it himself. I don't know if he has. We just finished Song Sung Blue with Kate Hudson and Hugh Jackman. It's very good, based on a true story, and especially fun if you like Neil Diamond. Oh, and we tried Novacaine, which has a fun premise, but the violence... I couldn't take it. What's NextAs usual, I have a few irons in a few different fires. On the Harlequin front, I'm expecting revisions for the royal romance I turned in a few weeks ago. This one already has a title: His Majesty's Bride Conquest. It opens when the hero, Sylvain, traps Isabeau in a bank vault so he can pick the lock on one of the boxes. Is he after jewels? No. He wants a document that proves he's a king. He steals more than the evidence when he leaves. He takes Isabeau, too! (And she is not impressed.) After those revisions, my next Harlequin will be a baby book. It's not due until the end of October so I'll be working on another project first. I've proofed the galley for the Afternoon Delight re-issue. It comes out October 20th and you will find pre-order links popping up on my site and all the retailers through the summer. Obviously, I'm hoping if you haven't ready Afternoon Delight that After Hours Rendezvous will pique your interest. Scroll back up and get your copy if you haven't already! As for what I'm working on in secret... It's a new project that's a little different for me. I can't say too much about it since we've only agreed verbally and I haven't signed the contract yet. Once things are more official, I'll let you know more, but it's exciting to work on something that's a small step out of my usual wheelhouse. I'm really having fun with it. Happy EndingsMay has been a beautiful, productive month for me on many fronts. I'm deeply grateful that my friend Rebecca (Hi Rebecca!) is keeping me accountable to a forty-hour work week, which is helping me find the work-life balance I've been seeking for years. I love my garden and all the quail politics I get to witness while I'm out there. Most of all, I'm very happy that summer is here! Aren't you? Hugs, Dani P.S. Afternoon Delight will re-release on Oct 20, 2026. Pre-order links for the print version are here. Ebook links will start appearing soon. |
