What's InsideBusiness-deal Bride is my 65th Harlequin! Also check out the painting my sister sent me and keep scrolling for a few things you might have missed. March on... My 65th Harlequin! This was exciting news I almost forgot to celebrate! Business-deal Bride is my 65th Harlequin. Find it on shelves now. To gain ownership of the company he's poured his soul into, Axel agrees to marry his mentor's daughter. After he signs the contract, he learns he must marry the man's biological daughter (not the woman who he's been engaged to for 2 years!) Joy was relinquished for adoption as an infant. A stranger (Axel) finds her (in a strip club) and insists she marry him (immediately!) Sexually-charged chaos ensues... LinksIf you're keeping track at home, Business-deal Bride is my 65th published Harlequin. Watch for:
But guess what? Greek's Dirty Little Secret is actually my 97th books overall. I just finished #98 (see What's Next) and I have three more Harlequins to write this year. I am *this* close to 100 books! ICYMI: What Was I Thinking? In February, What Was I Thinking covered Business-deal Bride and the entire Raven's Cove trilogy. I'm loving showing each of my books some love with this author commentary. Stay tuned for No Longer Forbidden? my very first Harlequin. Is there a book you've been waiting for me to discuss? Reply to this email and let me know.
Listen NowBookshopI took Afternoon Delight off of Dani's Bookshop while I wait for it to be reissued, but there are still lots of books there to choose from. Pop over to browse for digital and a few signed, print copies: Hello Reader,My sister in Winnipeg, Donna, has taken up painting in the last year. Look what she made for me! I love everything about it, especially the fact that we are three sisters so, um... Well, I don't want to incriminate us. You'll have to infer ;) She's also on her way to visit me. I have been head-down writing all through January and February so I'm really looking forward to this little break to hang out with her. I expect we'll walk in the sunshine and drink some wine and watch dumb TV. Then we're taking a small road trip to catch up with our cousin who will be visiting Vancouver. Yes, the two of us with our cousin are capable of plotting a few nefarious acts as well. Shhhh. What I'm WatchingTwinless is a decent movie with a plot that takes a twist. It was written, directed and stars James Sweeney. I loved him in Straight Up which I think I liked a teensy bit better than Twinless, but they're both good. Bookworm is a cute film out of New Zealand that took some turns I didn't expect. I'm back for season three of School Spirits which tells you it's decent enough that I'm still watching. We did not finish The Wrecking Crew. The violence got too much for me. I found an older show called Travelers on Netflix with Eric McCormack. We enjoyed the first season and will likely keep watching. Overcompensating is a little gem on Prime about a jock realizing he's gay as he arrives at college. It's got some good laughs. About a year ago, I told you I had finally started watching Friday Night Lights. Well, I no sooner put that in my newsletter and it disappeared from Crave. I've have found it on Disney and hello, I'm back in Dillon and finishing up the final season. Go Lions. We started Bugonia and look, I love Jesse Plemons as Landry from FNL, but maybe not in this role. Doug will probably finish it, but I'm not sure if I will. How to Get to Heaven from Belfast is decent. It's the same writer as Derry Girls which I have watched at least six or eight times so my expectations were very high and therefore hard to match. We've started Season Two of Paradise. There is enough broadening of the world and storyline to keep it interesting. What's NextAs mentioned above, I just finished a draft for a secret project that I'll tell you about when I can. It's for Pownal Street Press, the publisher taking Afternoon Delight. I'm loving the characters and setting and sent it to my daughter for her two cents before I polish it up and submit. I love writing Harlequin Presents, but they're very tightly paced. This secret project is more relaxed with a wider cast of characters and a lighter tone--although not quite as frothy as Afternoon Delight. Even so, if you're a Raven's Cove fan, I suspect you'll love it. Speaking of Presents, I'm ready to start my next one. It's not due until the end of June, but you know I like to get things in early. At the moment, I know there's a pregnancy-baby and I have a vision for a very dramatic opening, but that's all I can share because that's all I know! I'll be back with a new WWIT on Tuesday and look for a very special Fun Finds Friday on the 13th! Happy EndingsI'm very happy my sister is coming. I'm grateful to feel ahead on my deadlines and I had a wonderful catch-up with a fellow Presents writer (Hi, Rebecca!) this week which made me very happy. Hugs, Dani P.S.
